FAQ

Who can participate in the referral program?

Anyone who is an active member of Expats Club Germany, is 18 years or older, and has a membership in good standing.

Go to My Account → Referrals and share your personal link or QR code via email, WhatsApp, or social media. Your contact must start the advisory request through that link so the system automatically assigns them to you.

You’ll receive an Amazon voucher for the amount shown in the reward table (e.g., €40 for private health insurance, €30 for life insurance, etc.). Your contact receives the same voucher once they sign the contract.

  1. Submit the advisory request through your link.
  2. Sign and activate the corresponding contract with the brokerage or financial institution. Only then is the voucher issued.

Between 4 and 6 weeks after the contract activation date, allowing time for the company to verify the validity of the policy or product. We’ll email you the voucher code.

 

In My Account → Referrals you can see in real time how many contacts have requested advice (status Pending) and how many have signed a contract (status Completed).

No. You may invite as many contacts as you like and accumulate multiple vouchers; the same conditions apply to each valid new contract.

The vouchers are digital and transferable, but cannot be exchanged for cash or any other incentive.

Yes, unless another campaign explicitly states otherwise. Referral vouchers are independent of welcome discounts or other temporary promotions.

Amazon vouchers are considered benefit-in-kind income. We recommend consulting your tax advisor, especially if you exceed €256 in annual rewards (the usual tax-exempt limit in Germany).

Referral Program Rules

1. Participation and Eligibility

  • Only registered members aged 18 or over with permanent residence in the EU/EEA (Germany) are eligible.

  • One (1) account per person; duplicate or shared accounts will be cancelled.

2. Use of the Referral Link

  • The referral link is personal and non-transferable; it may not be modified or shortened in a way that hides its origin.

  • It is prohibited to place the link in paid ads, coupon websites, public forums, or mass mailings (spam).

  • Distribution must be directed only to contacts with whom you have a legitimate personal or business relationship.

  • False self-promotion (creating fictitious identities) will void the reward and may result in removal from the program.

3. Condition for Receiving the Reward

  • The referred person must initiate contact via your link and take out a valid policy with our brokerage.

  • A 30-day waiting period will apply from the policy start date — or the end of the statutory withdrawal period (Widerrufsfrist) — before the reward is validated.

  • If the policy is cancelled, revoked, or remains unpaid during this period, the reward will be void.

4. Rewards

  • The type, value, and delivery method of rewards will be published in the Rewards Table.

  • Rewards are not redeemable for cash unless explicitly stated.

  • Annual and per-user limits may apply, as detailed in the Rewards Table.

5. Taxation

  • Rewards may constitute taxable income under § 22 Nr. 3 EStG (Germany) or other applicable national regulations.

  • You are responsible for reporting them correctly.

  • This information does not constitute tax advice.

6. Data Protection

  • We process your data and your referral’s data in accordance with Art. 6 (1) b) and f) GDPR to operate and optimise the program.

  • Please refer to the Privacy Policy for details and for information on your rights to access, rectification, and withdrawal.

7. Ethical Conduct and Industry Regulations

  • Misleading statements about coverage, premiums, or benefits are prohibited (UWG § 5).

  • All offers and advice are provided in compliance with the Versicherungsvertragsgesetz (VVG), the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD), and under the supervision of BaFin.

  • Only our authorised advisors may provide insurance recommendations; you must not present yourself as an intermediary or advisor.

8. Duration and Amendments

  • The program remains in effect until further notice.

  • We may amend or terminate these rules with 14 days’ prior notice; changes required for legal or security reasons may take immediate effect.

  • Referrals generated before a change will remain subject to the terms in force at the time of the invitation.

9. Suspension and Loss of Rights

  • Violation of these rules, the law, or our spam policies will result in suspension and loss of pending rewards.

  • We reserve the right to verify the legitimacy of each referral and to reclaim any rewards paid in error.

10. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

  • The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies.
